Wheel Chair Lift
A wheel chair lift makes it easy to transport any type of wheel chair. Many vehicles feature an automated wheel chair lift so that it is fast and easy to load and unload your wheelchair. There are several different types of wheel chair lifts on the market. Platform lifts can be either solid or the folding style. They are referred to as automatic or semi automatic. A rotary wheel chair lift is also referred to as a swing lift. These allow your wheel chair to move from side to side as well as up and down. The easiest type of wheel chair lift is one that operates with electricity or hydraulics.
All good wheelchair lifts will have safety devices built in including skirting that encloses the underside of the lift. The lift will also instantly shut off the power source if there’s a short cut or malfunction. A wheel chair lift should be designed so that it only allows the wheels to operate when they are placed in a storage position.
The cost of a wheel chair lift can be quite expensive. There are many agencies that can assist with the cost. The Veterans Administration offers many programs to help with the cost. It depends on the type of disability.
And remember to make sure your wheel chair lift comes with a decent warranty!
